Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG) Neurofeedback training is a type of Biofeedback that includes brain mapping to assess brain activity levels. Through neurofeedback, practitioners can identify deviations from normal brain activity. An imbalance of certain brain waves, whether too much or too little activity, can lead to various mental health symptoms. By engaging in neurofeedback training, you can work on regulating these deviated brain frequencies, which can aid in mental health improvement, enhance your performance, or increase your mindfulness and self-awareness (Collura, 2014, p. xiii).

Many individuals and families choose neurofeedback training because it offers: A natural, drug-free option for improving emotional and cognitive functioning, contributing to mental health improvement. It provides long-term benefits, as the brain learns lasting self-regulation skills through a personalized, data-driven experience, utilizing brain mapping with qEEG to guide treatment. This non-invasive process is suitable for children, teens, and adults, and offers support for complex concerns that have not fully responded to traditional therapies alone.

Research and clinical practice demonstrate that neurofeedback training, enhanced by brain mapping techniques, can significantly contribute to mental health improvement in various areas, including:
- Trauma and PTSD Symptoms
- Anxiety and Racing Thoughts
- Depression and Mood Regulation
- ADHD and Attention Difficulties
- Sleep Problems and Chronic Stress
- Headaches/Migraines
- Emotional Reactivity and Irritability
- TBI/Concussions
- Support for Substance Use Recovery
While neurofeedback is not a cure, it aids the brain in achieving greater balance, flexibility, and stability, ultimately leading to improved daily functioning and overall well-being.
In-Person Consultation: This complimentary consultation allows us to discuss qEEG Neurofeedback, answer any questions you might have, and determine the best path forward for your mental health improvement. qEEG Brain Map: We start with a comprehensive assessment and brain mapping to gain insights into your unique brainwave patterns. Training Sessions: Most clients participate in Neurofeedback training sessions twice a week. During these sessions, you can relax while watching a screen or listening to audio that adjusts based on your brain activity. A minimum commitment of 20 training sessions is required, although closer to 40 is ideal for achieving lasting results. Progress Monitoring: We regularly review your progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.

If you, or a loved one (of any age), struggle with regulation, focus, trauma symptoms, or feeling 'stuck', neurofeedback training may be a valuable addition to your healing journey. This approach often involves brain mapping to better understand brain activity, which can significantly enhance mental health improvement. Neurofeedback training pairs well with psychotherapy (talk therapy), EMDR therapy, vision/speech therapy, vestibular therapy, and other forms of care.

Yes. We encourage you to continue taking any prescribed medications as directed by your doctor, as well as, notify your doctor that you are starting Neurofeedback. It is not uncommon, that medication doses will need to be adjusted throughout the duration of training sessions, and we are happy to assist with coordinating with your medical team as needed.
Typically, a single Neurofeedback session lasts 20-30 minutes. For lasting results, an average of 20-40 sessions will take place over 4-6 months. We suggest 3 sessions per week for 2-3 weeks, then you can reduce to 2 sessions per week for the remaining duration.
Research has shown Neurofeedback to be very effective for most people. There are circumstances that could arise which could limit the positive changes taking place. Some of these limitations include ongoing recreational drug use, inability to make healthy changes, continuing to engage in other harmful/maladaptive coping skills. We encourage the client to continue with psychotherapy while participating in Neurofeedback in order to maintain support for healthy change.
Neurofeedback is appropriate for all ages! It is non-invasive and effective for many conditions that arise in childhood through adulthood.
